about

This was more of a protest song about corporate America foisting another commercial holiday upon the public. It was also meant to be a love song using Valentine's Day as the foil, of "why do I have to have a special day to honor my love for you??"

lyrics

Well they raised up the prices of roses today
All because they said it was a holiday
It’s the day that I’m supposed to say, “I love you”
But I love you anyway and everyday it’s true

CHORUS:
And I don’t need no hallmark holiday
To tell me how I feel about you
Cause everyday is Valentine’s Day
Whenever I’m with you

The next day roses are half price
But that doesn’t mean I’d treat you half as nice
Cause every day is Valentine’s Day
Whenever I’m with you

CHORUS

Gonna save up all my money some day
Build you a greenhouse with all of my pay
Then I’d grow roses for you everyday
To show my love and give it to you

Chorus Out
