about

This song came together over a few years. I recalled coming up with the line “I feel good, I feel lucky” and it just seemed liked a very optimistic tune. Then I was thinking about the losers in the world who have used drugs or alcohol to take advantage of someone else – particularly men being predators to women in bars. I had pieced together other lyrics and the song started to take shape. The most difficult part of recording this song was the bridge, which is dark and very stark difference to the upbeat verse. This is the part in the song, where the man has given his date a “roofy” and it has now kicked in. I wanted the sound to be totally different from the upbeat verse and the tempo needed to change as well. This was the challenge to do while recording and being remote. Roscoe came up with a way for us to “piece together” the song by recording the song in three parts. The beginning and end were very similar grooves and feels, while the bridge in the middle was the big change. This is probably one of my favorites…

lyrics

I Feel Good, I Feel Lucky
I Feel Alright Tonight

I Feel Good, I Feel Lucky
I Feel Alright Tonight

Livin’ High At The 109 - Don’t You Worry Girl
You’ll Be Fine - You Got The Whole World, Baby In Front Of You

I Feel Good, I Feel Lucky
I Feel Alright Tonight

I Feel Good, I Feel Lucky
I Feel Alright Tonight

Get A Beer, Grab A Shot
We’re Headin To The Parking Lot
And Oh No, It’s Just About Closing Time

Bridge:

Step In My Room – And Do It Soon
Hope The Roof Hits You – Real Soon
Then It’ll Be Alright – I’m Getting’ Lucky Tonight

I Feel Bad, I Feel Unlucky
I Don’t Feel Alright Tonight

I Don’t Feel Good, I Feel Unlucky
I Don’t Feel Alright Tonight

Woke Up Don’t Recall A Thing - Now I’ve Got This Bad Feeling
It’s Gonna Stay With Me, Baby For The Rest Of My Life

The Rest Of My Life
The Rest Of My Life
The Rest Of My Life
The Rest Of My Life

Repeat….Out
