Life is good and I think we Americans take things for granted. We are extremely fortunate to have been born where we live today. I can’t imagine being born into a war-torn area or an area of rampant crime and poverty. That was basically the line of thinking behind this song, in that many of these complaints listed out in the song are mostly quite trivial and inconsequential to what many others are going through in this world. Plus, I also like a song to be funny, when it can be, and this was a good song to poke fun at people who don’t realize how good they have it.
